Br. Jerome Clark was born in Torrance, California in 1990. He grew up as a non-practicing Protestant. As a child, he attended a Protestant elementary and middle school, and later he attended a Catholic high school. While studying electrical engineering at UCLA, he began to research Catholicism, hoping at first just to be able to defend Catholics from anti-Catholic remarks he had heard from some Protestant friends. Instead, he fell in love with the faith and converted to Catholicism. He received Baptism, Confirmation and First Holy Communion all at the UCLA Newman Center during the Easter Vigil in 2010.  

While growing in his newfound relationship with God, he began to feel a call to the priesthood. After graduating in 2012, he worked at the UCLA Newman Center for a few years to continue his discernment, before eventually entering another abbey in California in 2016. After a few years of discernment, he left that abbey in summer 2023, hoping to find a community that placed a greater emphasis on education. He visited Cistercian in late 2023, and he was greatly edified by the love of the community for each other and for their students. He entered Our Lady of Dallas in August 2024, and he took first vows a year later. He currently teaches Latin at Cistercian Preparatory School.
